I offer training in your office or workplace. The current courses available are detailed below.
How to make and upload web pages
This half day course (4 hours) teaches non-technical staff the basics of HTML (web page code) so they can paste content into a web page template and make it look as they wish.This is followed by learning to upload and download files using free graphical FTP software, so they can test their new page in a web browser. Editing existing pages, and the importance of backups, is also introduced.
With exercises at every stage to enforce what has been learnt, the student gains the confidence to realise they can make straightforward changes to a corporate website.
Full training manuals are provided for reference, and examples worked through will be real instances from your website.
Requirements:
- Up to 5 students in a class, minimum 2 students to run the course.
- Students must be familiar with using Windows, Wordpad and MS Word
- Students will each need access to a PC connected to the internet, or one between two as a minimum
- Access to your existing website files will be needed, in order to create
a template file for the students to use
Cost: £150 per student for 2 students, or £100 per student for 3-5 students.

An Introduction to Website Accessibility
This course is planned for the future. It will provide an overview of why accessibility is important, including the business case for improved usability as well as legal requirements.The course will be tailored for the audience - in the case of in-house website designers, we can provide pointers to get them started with improving their own site; in the case of more general staff, we will illustrate different needs and the way that people with various impairments will access the Internet.
