Proofreading and Copy Writing
Often, our customers are unsure of what content to put on their website, may want help in translating technical concepts into straightforward wording, or they speak English as a second language and are aware they need assistance to give their website a professional finish.Therefore, we offer two services: proofreading, and copy writing.
Proofreading
Proofreading is where you provide the wording for your website, and we check it for spelling and grammar errors.This can work in many different ways, dependent on what you require. We can proofread your site and mark the changes on a page-by-page basis in a report which will be emailed for your approval. Or, if you are sure that your content will need amending, we can simply go ahead and correct it as the content is entered into your new website, immediately incorporating all our suggested improvements. It's up to you as to how much control you want in the process.
As well as your target audience, we will need to know whether you prefer UK or US English. As well as spelling this affects date formats and nuances - for example the British use "N.B." (nota bene - note well) while the Americans use "Note" by preference.

Copy Writing
Copy writing is when you know the gist of what you want to say, but need someone else to write the content for you. Typically, this is achieved by asking you for examples of websites from businesses in the same sector as you (so we can see what sort of information you might wish to convey) and then interviewing you, using your answers to form the content of your pages.Alternatively, you may have a technical document and need it "translated" into a format that can be understood by casual readers. Or perhaps you have some wording which you cannot use for copyright reasons, and need it to be completely rewritten so you can convey the same information.
Other reasons for needing your copy to be rewritten might include tailoring it to a certain audience; for example adapting articles to be easily understood by people with learning difficulties.
