Hackney Family Backup

Child with water pistol Hackney Family Backup (HFBU for short), is a local organisation, which supports families of children and young adults with disabilities and/or disabling medical conditions.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life of Disabled children and their families, by promoting community support and social inclusion.

We have a range of services for families in the borough including Short Break Carers, Family Support and a Toy Library. To find out more about what we do, follow the relevant link on the left of this page.

Hackney Disability Backup

This is a forum for disabled people, funded by Hackney Council. We hold regular meetings so that disabled people can have their say about key issues in Hackney. This website contains information about our meetings as well as a regular newsletter.

Disability Backup enables service users to influence change in their borough and be consulted about current issues. We are accessible to those with physical, sensory or learning disabilities and are open to all age groups.
